In Forza Horizon 6, the Japan map isn’t just beautiful—it’s packed with opportunities to rack up Reputation (XP) fast. Your goal is to move from a lowly “Tourist” to a legendary Horizon Legend, and reputation is the fuel for unlocking wristbands, cars, and events. With Japan’s dense cities, winding mountain roads, and hidden collectibles, there are plenty of ways to level up quickly.
Here’s how to farm XP efficiently:
1. Hunt Down XP Boards
There are 200 XP Boards scattered across Japan, and smashing them is one of the fastest ways to  gain reputation
.
Pro Tip: Japan’s map is very vertical, especially in Tokyo. Look for boards under multi-level highways, on temple rooftops, or tucked between tight alleyways.
Strategy: Plan a route to hit multiple boards in one run to maximize your multiplier.
2. Chain Skills in Tokyo
Tokyo is huge—roughly five times bigger than Guanajuato from FH5—and packed with opportunities for Skill Chains.
The Method: Combine Near Misses, Drifts, and Wreckages in the backstreets. The tighter the traffic, the better for multipliers.
Best Cars: Nimble JDM classics like the Mazda RX-7 or Toyota Supra let you weave through traffic without breaking your combo.
3. Drift the Mountain Touges
Japan’s mountains, like Mt. Haruna and Bandai-Azuma, are perfect for XP farming through drifting.
Strategy: Hit the Drift Zones repeatedly. Bank the XP after each run to lock in massive rewards.
Tip: Tune your car for high-angle drifts to maximize your score per run.
4. Hunt Regional Mascots
While Regional Mascots mostly give credits, they also grant exploration XP, which stacks up over time.
How to Use: Smash mascots while traveling between events or exploring unknown roads. This keeps your XP ticking without interrupting your main grind.
5. Prioritize High-XP Events
Certain events and activities give huge single-shot XP rewards:
Showcase Events: Major spectacles like the Chaser Zero mech battle deliver some of the largest XP payouts.
Road Discovery: Early in the game, avoid Fast Travel. Driving on unexplored (greyed-out) roads gives consistent XP for every new kilometer.
