In ARC Raiders, the Flashpoint update shook up the close-quarters meta by introducing the Canto—a rare, fully-automatic submachine gun (SMG) that chews through enemies using medium ammo. Because it balances high close-quarters damage with great customization potential, getting your hands on one is a top priority for serious raiders.

However, the traditional route to earning it requires fighting both aggressive PvP players and brutal map conditions. To bypass the grind entirely, a growing number of players choose to visit marketplace platforms like  U4N to simply  buy arc raiders blueprints directly, allowing them to skip the RNG and jump straight into crafting.

If you prefer to hunt it down yourself on the surface, you need to understand the math, the mechanics, and the hyper-efficient farming strategy that the community uses to track it down.

The Reality of the Canto Grind: By the Numbers
The Canto blueprint is one of the most elusive items in the current loot pool. It does not spawn in standard lockers or toolboxes; instead, it is locked inside First Wave Caches (frequently called Hurricane Caches by the community). These heavy-duty metallic containers only replace regular raider caches when a Hurricane map condition is live.

To understand why players get frustrated enough to buy their gear, look at how the probability stacks against you:

The Spawn Filter: First Wave Caches share the exact same spawn coordinates as regular raider caches, but they only have a 10% to 20% chance (roughly 1 in 5 to 1 in 10 markers) to actually materialize during a Hurricane event.

The Loot Pool Dilution: Even if you successfully locate and open a First Wave Cache, you aren't guaranteed the Canto. Community data tracking from a Test batch of 100 opened Hurricane caches revealed a 57% overall blueprint drop rate. However, that 57% is heavily weighted toward older purple blueprints like the Bobcat (18% individual drop chance), Tempest (11%), and Vulcano (11%).

The Time Investment: Because the Flashpoint patch actively lowered the overall cache spawn rates to prevent economy inflation, you will average about 4 to 8 caches looted per hour of dedicated play. Mathematically, it takes an average of 1.5 to 3 hours of flawless, uninterrupted speed-running just to see a single Canto blueprint drop.

The Meta Farming Strategy: "Naked Runs"
If you are going to farm this manually, going into a match fully geared is a rookie mistake. The community relies heavily on "naked runs"—a high-speed, zero-risk looping strategy designed to exploit the game's built-in safe pocket mechanic.

1.Monitor the Schedule:Check Map Rotation.
First Wave Caches do not exist unless a Hurricane event is active. Check your in-game event timers or live tracking sites before launching.

2.Deploy Completely Empty:Zero-Risk Loadout.
Equip a completely naked loadout. Bring nothing but a couple of Adrenaline Shots for speed. Since your character has a permanent Safe Pocket, you risk absolutely nothing if you get caught by another squad or a drone.

3.Target High-Density Mapsgroßes Grinsen rop Dam or Blue Gate.
Deploy into Dam Battlegrounds (which features the highest cache density) or Blue Gate (the community favorite for clean pathing). Avoid Buried City and Spaceport for this method, as their cache spawns are too far apart.

4.Use Audio Cue Tracking:Listen for the Hum.
Do not rely purely on sight; visibility is terrible during a Hurricane. First Wave Caches emit a distinct, rhythmic electronic hum or buzzing loop—completely different from the mechanical ticking of a standard cache. Put on headphones, sprint to a known marker cluster, stop for 3 seconds to listen, and rotate immediately if it's silent.

5.Pocket and Reset:Instant Requeue.
The second you open a cache and see the blue Canto blueprint, drag it into your Safe Pocket immediately. Once it is secure, open your menu and hit Surrender. You will instantly return to Speranza with the blueprint intact. If you search your local clusters for 5 to 8 minutes and find nothing, surrender anyway to refresh into a brand-new lobby.

Crafting Requirements and Base Weapon Profile
Extracting or purchasing the blueprint is only the first phase. To physically assemble the weapon, you need to bring the blueprint to the Gunsmith in Speranza.

The Recipe Costs
Before the Gunsmith can build the weapon, you must level up your reputation to Gunsmith Level 3 and supply the following raw materials:

1× Canto Blueprint

2× Advanced Mechanical Components (Obtained by recycling rare blue or epic purple gear)

5× Magnets (Scavenged from the surface or bought directly from Celeste)

3× Medium Gun Parts (Found in tool cupboards or crafted manually)

Weapon Profile: What You Get
Once constructed, the Canto functions as a close-range powerhouse designed to shred armor quickly in PvP engagements.

Attribute Base Specification
Ammo Type Medium Ammo
Firing Mode Fully-Automatic
Base Damage 6.5 per round
Magazine Size 18 rounds (Upgradable via weapon tiers)
Rarity Tier Rare (Blue)
Because it is a Rare tier item, the base version is just the starting point. You can continuously upgrade the Canto through levels I, II, III, and IV at the Gunsmith, expanding its magazine size and attaching custom weapon mods to eliminate its snappy vertical recoil. Whether you decide to spend a weekend listening to electronic hums in the blinding rain or take a shortcut through a marketplace, adding the Canto to your vault fundamentally changes how you handle close-quarters ambushes on the surface.
