. While you can start creating basic designs right away, the truly advanced features—like new decals, window graphics, and special paint materials—are unlocked as you progress through the game. Knowing how to unlock these features will help you get the most out of your rides.
Unlocking Advanced Customization
Collection Journal Rewards:
The Collection Journal isn’t just for tracking cars—it’s also a gateway to more customization options. Completing journal entries unlocks extra decals and vinyls, including in-world branding such as PI Class logos and wristband icons. These assets let you make your cars look truly unique.
Campaign Progression:
As you move through the campaign, new window graphics and stickers become available. This means your vehicles can sport fresh designs on windshields and side windows that reflect your achievements in the game.
Forza Edition Cars:
Some cars come with extreme customization options that you won’t find on standard vehicles. These Forza Edition cars may have unique engine models, revamped interiors, and special liveries. You can unlock them via Wheelspins or discover them as rare finds in the open world.
New Advanced Features in Horizon 6
Window Painting:
For the first time, you can apply decals and liveries directly to all your car’s windows. This opens up creative possibilities for sponsors, racing stripes, or totally custom graphics on glass surfaces.

If you’ve spent time in previous Forza titles, you can import vinyl groups and designs to give your library a head start. While full designs from Forza Horizon 5 aren’t fully compatible due to updated car models and materials, you can still reuse many of your older creations as a foundation for new liveries.
