| u4gm Path of Exile 2 Infernalist Exploding Minions Guide |
 |
If you’re jumping into Path of Exile 2’s Rise of the Abyssals league, the Witch Infernalist minion build is one of those setups that instantly hooks you. It’s not your usual summoner; it feels more like leading an unruly squad of pyromaniac undead. You stand back, keep moving, and let them rip through everything in sight. The damage output is constant, the action’s chaotic, and you get the thrill of huge explosions without burning out your fingers. I started this league with nothing but a handful of basic gear and some ambition, and soon my skeletal arsonists were making me feel rich in PoEق Currency
just from the pace at which they cleared maps.
The Infernalist ascendancy really stitches the playstyle together. Unholy Might gives minions a noticeable spike in chaos damage, which you’ll see immediately on the battlefield. Early on, Necromantic Conduit can be a bit of a mana sink, but it smooths out once you adjust your passives. Pain Offering is where the real ramp hits – your army goes from “effective” to “unstoppable.” For the main force, Skeletal Arsonists linked with Minion Damage and Feeding Frenzy keep mobs melting. Single-target situations are easy to handle when your Bind Spectre pulls in something heavy, like Vaal Guard Bombers. Supporting units bring utility – Skeletal Brutes stack Intimidate on enemies, and Skeletal Frost Mages give you that damage cut you need when things start to bite back.
Your passive tree is simple enough: load up on minion damage and life near the Witch start. Nodes like Profane Commander and Relentless Fallen are key grabs. As you move through the acts, you’ll want points in Spirit and mana sustain – bigger armies mean more upkeep. Moving into endgame, Energy Shield investment can turn you into the kind of tank who just doesn’t die, even while directing fights from halfway across the screen. For jewels, anything boosting minion damage, chaos damage, or giving an extra spectre slot is worth dropping currency on.
What’s nice is that the gear curve’s gentle. Start with a sceptre carrying +1 to Level of all Minion Skill Gems and any chest with life and resists. From there, build up. Bones of Ullr boots for the extra Spirit, then you might slide into an Enfolding Dawn amulet once you’ve got the arsonists running hot. In the top end, Ventor's Gamble rings are solid for stacking Spirit, and a Darkness Enthroned belt lets you pack in those abyss jewels. Resistances are a must-cap before chasing more +minion gem levels and damage.
Once the pieces are in place, the playstyle just clicks. You’ll be running maps at speed, mobs popping before you even see them all, bosses crumbling after a few focused commands. Apply Despair, trigger Pain Offering, point your minions in the right direction… job done. It feels powerful, it looks wild, and it keeps delivering, no matter the league challenge. After a few runs like this, you’ll wonder why you’d ever go back – especially when you realise how quick your stash fills with poe2 mirror
