If you’re getting worn out on the standard caster or melee grind in Path of Exile 2, you should give this a go. The Rise of the Abyssals league has brought plenty of wild ideas, but running a Witch with the Infernalist ascendancy takes it to a whole new level. Imagine whole maps filled with the chaos of your own exploding skeleton crew. It’s loud, messy, and ridiculously satisfying. And the best bit? It’s strong enough to cruise through late–game without much stress. You’ll be watching mobs disappear while tapping just a few buttons, and before you know it, you’ll be hunting for more  PoEق Items
to push things even further.
The Infernalist ascendancy makes you feel like you’re actually leading an army. One key perk, Necromantic Conduit, gives your minions a permanent Unholy Might aura, which is a big chaos damage boost. Sure, it eats some mana, but that’s easy enough to patch up with a couple of passives. Pain Offering is the other game–changer, letting your minions spike their damage to silly levels on demand. The loop is simple: summon, buff, and keep moving while your crew takes care of the dirty work.
Your main firepower comes from Skeletal Arsonists. Pair them with support gems like Feeding Frenzy and Minion Damage and they’ll flood the screen with chain–reaction firebombs. Anything still standing gets finished off by Spectres — I’ve had great success with Vaal Guard Bombers for their massive area hits and Frozen Mandibles to rip through chaos–resistant bosses. A Skeletal Brute handles intimidation to up your damage output, and a Frost Mage brings in much–needed protection. Add curses like Despair into the mix, and enemies simply melt. The best part is you don’t need to micromanage; you set them loose and let them go to work.
Gear options stay wide open, so it’s easy to start cheap. A basic +1 to minion gems sceptre with life and resistance gear is plenty to clear content early. As you stack currency, uniques make it even sweeter: Bones of Ullr boots for more spirits, Enfolding Dawn amulet for perfect synergy with Arsonists, and a Darkness Enthroned belt loaded with strong jewels. Ventor’s Gamble rings can push spirit counts higher, letting you field an over–the–top swarm. Focus on more minion levels, extra spirits, and raw minion damage. Cap your resistances and you’ll feel near unkillable.
Playing it is pure fun. You zip around with Flame Dash while your undead entourage erases everything. Boss fights are straightforward — drop your curses, trigger Pain Offering, tell your crew to focus fire, and watch their health vanish. It’s got blistering speed, strong bossing, and that chaotic energy that makes the game so addictive. If you want to charge into the Rise of the Abyssals with something that’s both hilarious and deadly, this is the build to run — especially once you start stacking up cheap PoEق Items
